KitchenAid | Holiday Promotions
KitchenAid.com runs promotions for certain holidays throughout the year. Using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) I create new web pages and edit content of current web pages in support of the promotions. Some designs use AEM components while others require custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Editing raw photography and creating new digital media is also an important factor in the completion of the promotions.

KitchenAid | QuickStart
KitchenAid QuickStart is a portal on KitchenAid.com for owners of KitchenAid Countertop Appliances to find Use and Care Guides, product registration, QuickStart videos, recipes and more. In 2015 I designed and created a new template in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the QuickStart pages. Pages were built locally and then pushed to KitchenAid.com via their prior CMS, TeamSite. When KitchenAid moved to their new CMS in 2018, AEM, an internal team redesigned the pages using AEM components, however I am still the main developer publishing new QuickStart pages to the portal.

Whirlpool | ServiceMatters
ServiceMatters.com is site for Whirlpool certified field technicians to find information about appliances they are repairing. It functions as a search engine for technical documents, service pointers, service manuals, videos, parts lists, installation instructions, and more. During its initial development, I created the front-end using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, as the project grew we needed a more versatile platform, so we moved to the Laravel Framework. Laravel is a PHP based framework which utilizes blade templates for the front-end development. The blade templates allow me to create reusable front-end components to be used on multiple pages.

Stanley Black & Decker | Sales Tools
To date, I have created 3 separate Sales Tools websites for Stanley Black & Decker (SBD). Each version is for a different internal SBD distribution channel. The sites are a place for SBD team members and external vendors to locate and download promotional fliers, catalogs, product literature, application resources, and links to other helpful websites. Each site represents a number of major name brand tool manufacturers. All 3 sites were built on WordPress using a custom theme I designed and developed for the project. I am also the Account Executive on all SBD projects. I handle all of the client communications, as well as putting together project proposals, project scope documents, and estimates.

Stanley Black & Decker | Rebates
SBDRebates.com is Stanley Black & Decker’s home for digital rebate redemptions. Prior to its development, customers had to fill out postcards with their info and list the model numbers of their purchases and mail them in. I was tasked with developing an online version of the former mail-in rebates promotions. The site, which hosts multiple rebates per year, is built on WordPress using a custom theme I designed and developed.

Working at a marketing agency means no two days are alike. One day I might be working on the development of a website, the next I might be turning a video into an animated GIF for an email blast. Another day I might be working in AWS setting up a new EC2 instance and RDS database while also synchronizing files between an S3 bucket and my local machine via the command line, or I might be using Adobe Illustrator to create SVG files for online use. As a part of the JR Digital Team, we use Atlassian software like Jira (project management/tickets), Confluence (documentation), and Bitbucket (Version-control). As a company we use Google's G Suite for our productivity and collaboration tools.

Elevator Pitch: Seasoned Web Developer focused on crafting clean, elegant, and user‑friendly experiences across multiple platforms. Passionate about developing new strategies and exploring new ideas pertaining to digital marketing.
In a Nutshell: In my teens and early 20s I worked in the hospitality industry. I have been a busboy, cook, host, bouncer, waiter, and restaurant manager. I feel this time in my life taught me many valuable life lessons in humility, hard work, compassion and respect for others, and how to properly tip (usually requires over-tipping). My wife and I have an inside joke where we think everyone should be required to serve one year either in hospitality or the military. You know...to make better human beings.
In the next chapter of my life, I spent 10 years as a real estate salesperson and as head of marketing for a custom builder. One day I might be convincing people to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new home, and the next day I might be developing a new website or print ad for one of our properties. When the housing crash hit during the "Great Recession", I decided to go back to school for digital marketing and development (B.B.A., Electronic Business Marketing, Western Michigan University).
In 1985 my Father bought our first family computer, an Apple IIc. This is where my love for computers began. Fast forward 30ish years and my love of computers has grown even stronger. I went back to college to take my tinkering and self-taught skills to the next level and receive a formal education with the machines I love. What was always a hobby or labor of love became a career. For the last 10 years I've been a professional web developer, learning everyday, pushing myself, and enjoying it.
